17th November 2008 |
Winter Futsal 2009
The Futsal Program will run at World of Soccer (Chesser Avenue) and
Dalkeith Campus.
The Futsal event will be open to all teams playing 7 a side football
with ESSDA - under 12, 11, 10 and 9.
Last year this event was fully subsidised by the SFA. This year the
SFA will continue to subsidise the program, and ESSDA will contribute
too. However to help towards the expenses, all teams taking part will be
asked to contribute £40.
The format will be very similar to last year:-
-
It is a 7 week program - Sunday 11 January 2009 until Sunday 22
February 2009
-
5 a side Futsal. Squads can be larger.
-
Teams will be located at either World of Soccer or Dalkeith Campus
-
The SFA will hold a Festival of Football for all clubs on the last
week (22 February 2009). This will be at World of Soccer.
Any teams wishing to participate should complete the application form
and submit £40 payable to ESSDA. Payment will be accepted at the next
ESSDA meeting or can be returned to me. Forms are available on-line on
our Forms page.
There will be an SFA "in service day" at Dalkeith Campus on
Sunday 14th
December (change of date) at 10am - 12noon at Dalkeith Campus for the coaches of teams
taking part. All coaches wanting to take part are asked to contact SFA -
Jen Malone at
southeast@scottishfa.co.uk
All clubs are asked to complete and return their Futsal applications
before 1st December 2008. Late application may mean you miss this
event.
Please support ESSDA and the SFA by attending this event. The cost is
approximately £1 per child per week - still very good value.

Leasing of three new
build pavilions at Bingham Park, East Pilton Park and Fernieside
Recreation Ground
The City of Edinburgh Council is inviting football
clubs to register their interest in acquiring a long term lease on
individual pavilions at Bingham, East Pilton and Fernieside Park.
The pavilions are being built by John Dennis &
Company (Scotland) Ltd and accommodation includes a home and away changing
room, male & female toilets, disabled toilet, first aid room, officials
changing and storage space. The scheduled completion of all three
pavilions is the end of December 2008.
The pavilions are available on a full repairing
lease and insuring basis with an annual rental charge for the pavilion and
an upfront security bond payable. Clubs will also be responsible for all
utility bills.
Applications will be assessed on a number of
criteria that includes club management and sustainability, youth
development and links with the local community. The deadline for
applications is Friday 17 October 2008. Applications will be accepted by
post, email, fax or hand delivered to Waverley Court.
Once applications have been marked, and there is no
clear successful applicant, clubs may be asked to do a small presentation
to a panel to determine who will be awarded the lease.
Ultimately the decision on the successful clubs will
be approved by the Council’s Culture & Leisure Committee.

FOOTBALL 4s FOR UNDER 8s
From August 2008
As part of the SFA Player Pathway which Essda
endorse the new intake of under 8s in August will play
Football 4s. We are trialling this programme form August so
that we will hit the ground running come March 09 when the
Player Pathway kicks in for real.
To enable this programme to run effectively 4s
centres will be set up. We are asking Clubs to run these
centres on behalf of Essda and the SFA. Centres already in
place are LOANHEAD, FERNIESIDE & BINGHAM PARK. We are hoping to
secure at least 3 other centres ( these will be confirmed soon
).
Due to each of the hosting clubs logistical
issues the centres will run on either a Saturday or Sunday
morning.
Each of the centres will be provided with the
equipment shown, the
equipment is the property of the SFA
but the hosting club will have control over it. To see the
equipment, please click on the equipment link
